Do I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. Heat was of course shot on analogue 35 mm film. This has recently undergone a complete restoration, resulting in a new 4k master, which has also received a new grading for the purposes of the new 4k Ultra HD presentation, to make it even more colour-accurate to the creative intent. Ironically, this makes the UHDBD slightly darker than the previous Blu-ray edition to further enhance the atmosphere of the film. At the same time, however, there is a greater dynamic range of brightness in the daytime scenes. The colour palette has improved slightly - the skin tones in particular are now more natural. In terms of detail and grain, this is only a minimal upgrade, as the 2017 remastered edition was already excellent, but we can still say that this is technically the best presentation of the film to date, and it's highly unlikely to get any better.
