Do I get native 4k ULTRA HD?

Yes. As we've come to expect from Nolan, he shot his latest release on a combination of IMAX (70mm) and 65mm film. The advantage of his adherence to the analogue approach is that we get the absolute maximum in terms of resolution: it's speculated that the theoretical resolution of IMAX is somewhere between 16k and 18k, which of course surpasses any existing digital cameras. The 65mm version is much smaller in size, but its "analogue resolution" equivalent is still much higher than anything that current modern cameras can provide. It's not surprising, then, that in terms of detail and sharpness we expect Oppenheimer to be at the absolute top end of the Ultra HD Blu-ray format's capabilities. A native 4k master from such high quality source material can deliver nothing less.

What we can't expect from Nolan, on the other hand, is wild approach to HDR or sound mixing. Nolan colors his films in a luminance range more appropriate to SDR, as well as mixes them in classic six-channel mixes, so you can't expect object-based audio like Dolby Atmos. Even so, it's clear that if we leave out the exclusive IMAX screenings in Prague, the film has hardly looked better anywhere than on UHDBD. The format's ability to deliver perfect 4k transfer and a higher colour and brightness range remains unsurpassed by most cinemas.
