The information about the mastering of 8 Mile is inaccurate - the film was shot on Super35, a variant of classic 35mm, but in its day it was subsequently scanned and therefore mastered in 2k. Unfortunately, it is not known whether the studio reached for a 2k master for the purposes of the 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray, in which case the transfer would have been upsampled, or whether they went back to the original negatives and created a new 4k master from those. Either way, we can of course count on some upgrade over the original Blu-ray in either case, as Ultra HD Blu-ray provides both higher resolution and better compression, colour transfer, or of course higher brightness dynamics thanks to HDR. In addition, the re-mix of the soundtrack to DTS:X is sure to please any fans of Eminen's music. We'll simply get the upgrade and the best possible look for the film one way or another.
