Do I get native 4k Ultra HD?

Yes. Garland shot his mystery sci-fi at a time when native 4k production was not very common, and his chosen Sony CineAlta F65 digital cameras were the first such machines used extensively for 4k recording. This allowed the studio to return to the original native 4k master when preparing the 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray disc, and to accumulate enough image information for the new transcription to make this release the best possible distribution version of the film. Ex Machina has hardly been screened in 4k anywhere natively, but on UHDBD viewers will get to see it in a quality never seen before, with native UHD backed by high-quality HEVC compression and an extended brightness and colour gamut in the form of HDR. It's safe to say that the film has never looked better than it does on this disc, and since the dics draws almost all of its visual information from the source material, it probably won't look any better.
